Silver Matmid members enjoy the benefits awarded to all Matmid members as well as special additional benefits, such as: additional 10% accrual for every flight and attractive rates for upgrades to premium classes.

Silver  Matmid members living outside of Israel will enjoy the benefits of the EXECUTIVE Circle.​


 

Earning Silver Tier Status

Matmid members who earn 800 points or 700 points + 12 flight segments during a period of 12 consecutive months will enjoy Silver tier benefits.

Point accrual is checked daily during a period of 12 consecutive months to examine entitlement for awarding Silver tier status.

Entitlement for renewing Silver tier status is examined for a period of 12 consecutive months prior to the date of receiving Silver status.

Point accrual required for renewing or receiving Silver tier status: only Basic points earned from EL AL or UP flights and from FLY CARD PREMIUM credit cards.


 

Silver Members Earn More from EL AL and UP flights


 

Reduced Price Last-Minute Upgrade

Upgrades from Economy Class to Business Class for members who have accumulated 1,000 Basic Points or more in the last 12 consecutive months from EL AL or UP flights, holding Y, S, and M Class EL AL tickets.

Upgrades from Business Class to First Class: for members who have accumulated 1,200 Basic Points or more in 12 consecutive months from EL AL or UP flights only, holding C, and I Class EL AL tickets.

Silver members enjoy reduced price last-minute upgrades 48 hours before the flight and at the airport. The upgrade is on a space available basis and is subject to the Matmid Club Regulations.

Priorities among those entitled to a last-minute discount upgrade is according to the following order:

  • Member’s tier
  • Type of flight ticket
  • EXECUTIVE Members (Excluding  Matmid - TL Members),FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders.
  • Number of Basic Points earned by the member during the preceding 12 months from EL AL  flights,  UP flights and FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card only
  • Seniority as club member

Until December 9, 2014: Priorities among those entitled to a last-minute discount upgrade according to the following order

  • Member’s tier
  • Type of flight ticket
  • Number of Basic Points earned by the member during the preceding 12 months from EL AL and/or UP flights only
  • Seniority as club member

 

Baggage Benefit

Baggage allowance for Silver members flying Economy Class or Economy Class Plus: two suitcases weighing up to 23 kilos each. In addition, FLY CARD and FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders receive a 50% discount on payment in points or money for one additional piece of luggage.

Assured Seat in Economy Class

Guaranteed seating in Economy Class up to 72 hours before a flight for purchases of Y class flight tickets (except during holiday periods, on code share flights, on special group flights and under unusual circumstances that are not EL AL's control.



 


 

 

Priority on Waiting List for EL AL Flights

As a Silver member you have preference on the waiting list for EL AL flights.

    To receive Gold membership in the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club you must earn 1000 points or 700 points + 15 flight segments during 12 consecutive months
    To renew Gold membership in the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club you must earn 800 points or 700 points + 15 flight segments during 12 consecutive months
  • Benefits for FLY CARD and FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders are for members with an Israeli bank account
  • Using tier-related benefits is subject to Matmid Club Regulations
