Receiving Platinum Tier
Matmid members who accumulate 3000 points or 2,800 points + 40 flight segments during a period of 12 consecutive months will enjoy the benefits of Platinum membership.
Point accrual is checked daily during a period of 12 consecutive months to examine entitlement for awarding Platinum tier status.
Point accrual is checked for a period 12 consecutive months prior to the date for renewing Platinum tier status.
Point accrual required for renewing or receiving Platinum tier status: Basic points earned only from EL AL and UP flights and from FLY CARD PREMIUM credit cards.
Special Benefit for FLY CARD PREMIUM Holders
Up to 20% of the points converted from FLY CARD PREMIUM credit cards will count towards receiving or renewing premium status and being listed for reduced price last-minute upgrades (limited to up to 400 points per year).

Reduced price last-minute upgrade: Upgrading to a premium class for a reduced, attractive price 24 hours before the flight and at the airport. The upgrade is given on a space available basis and subject to Matmid Club regulations.
Platinum members receive a 50% discount on reduced price last-minute upgrades from Business Class to First Class.

Baggage Benefits
Hand luggage: Economy Class passengers may carry aboard the plane one standard size piece of hand luggage + a portable computer, with a total inclusive weight not exceeding 12 kilos.
* The baggage benefit for European destinations in Economy Class when purchasing the Lite ticket (for sale as of April 30, 2018, for departures as of October 15, 2018) – option to carry one bag (of standard dimensions) weighing up to 8 kg.
Checked Baggage: The baggage allowance for Platinum members flying Economy Class is 2 suitcases weighing up to 32 kilos each. Also, FLY CARD and FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders receive a 50% discount for another piece of baggage (above the permitted allowance).
* For Checked Baggage, in Economy Class for European destinations: when purchasing Lite ticket (for sale as of April 30, 2016, for departures as of October 15, 2018) – no baggage benefit will be allowed. Baggage can be stored in Checked Baggage for a fee.
In Lite ticket: The 50% discount for FLY CARD holders will not apply to the first suitcase and will be valid only for the second suitcase (first suitcase for full payment).

Assured Seating Up to 24 Hours before Flight Time
Platinum members have assured seating in Economy Class up to 24 hours before the flight, when purchasing a flight ticket in Y class (except during holiday seasons, fairs and special events, code share flights, flights for groups and except for unusual circumstances and circumstances not under EL AL’s control).
