EL AL and AA, the largest airline in the world, have joined forces to offer you improved service:We would like to inform you that the Frequent Flyer agreement between EL AL and American Airlines will terminate as of October 31st 2014• Last flight date for earning EL AL Matmid Frequent Flyer points from American Airlines flights will be October 31st, 2014• Last date for issuing Matmid bonus tickets for American Airlines flights will also be October 31st, 2014 – after this date changing or canceling the bonus ticket will not be permitted
You can fly on AA flights and accumulate points in your EL AL Club accountPoints can be earned on most AA flights, excluding tickets of Classes O, T, U, Z, Q, free tickets, agents’ tickets, bonus tickets, and children’s discount tickets On domestic America flights, points can also be earned on Classes O and QPoints can be earned on flights with AA’s subsidiary, American EaglePoints can be earned on AA Code Share Flights, excluding AA’s Tel Aviv Code Share line
You may not have a bonus ticket issued on AA code share flightsYou can have bonus tickets issued for flights with AA or a combined bonus ticket for EL AL and AA flights. (The combined bonus ticket is valid only for flights to the USA – excluding Hawaii, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, Bermuda and Mexico)Tickets issued on AA only will be issued as return tickets onlyUsing bonus tickets is subject to the restrictions of Capacity Control and to the embargo periods in effect on the airlineFlights with AA allow two stopovers (of over four hours), one in each direction. If the itinerary includes Europe, you are allowed one more stopover of up to 24 hours in each direction
Every change in an issued bonus ticket entails a service charge of $50 before departure or $100 after departure (express processing entails a service charge of $100). AA bonus tickets can be changed abroad in EL AL offices only
