Changes and Updates in Prices of Award Tickets
Changes and Updates in the prices and conditions of Award tickets will go into effect for tickets sold as of April 1st, 2019.
Matmid Club members are entitled to purchase Award tickets according to the price lists and Award ticket conditions applying to tickets sold until March 31, 2019, regardless of the actual flight date.
* As of April 1st, 2019, sales of the High Availability Award product will be canceled.

Changes and Updates in Award Ticket Conditions
- The Award ticket must be ticketed immediately while making the reservation on the website, through the Telephone Service Center or through travel agents. postponed to July 9, 2019 (Updated on June 30, 2019)
- Reservations and ticketing through the Telephone Service Center entail handling fees, to be determined from time to time by EL AL for all of its customers
- Award tickets can be reserved and ticketed up to six hours before the flight departure time.
- Award ticket conditions, including conditions for change, cancelation or no-show for the flight will be specified during the Award ticket reservation process and before purchase of the ticket. The current price list for cancelations and changes is canceled. postponed to July 9, 2019 (Updated on June 30, 2019)
- Inclusion in the Award class waitlist for purchasing Award tickets will be possible only for Platinum and Top Platinum Matmid members. Inclusion on the waitlist for these members will also apply to those accompanying them and listed on the same reservation as well as for Platinum and Top Platinum Matmid members who redeemed or will redeem points from their accounts for another person. Entering the waitlist is possible only through the EL AL Telephone Service Center. postponed to July 9, 2019 (Updated on June 30, 2019)
- The option for reserving Award tickets will not be offered to Matmid members who do not have the required number of points as appears on the above price list for bonus tickets. postponed to July 9, 2019 (Updated on June 30, 2019)
- The option of purchasing points for money: In the case of missing points required for purchasing the Award ticket, it is possible to purchase additional points through the EL AL website in lots of 10 points, for 10 dollars
- Money surcharges will be displayed during the reservation process and may vary from time to time according to flight destination, flight date, supply and demand as well as other commercial, economic and business considerations as determined by the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club
- In any event, the money surcharge will be within the range of money surcharges published on the price list for Awardtickets
Payment of the Monetary Supplement with Points. postponed to July 9, 2019 (Updated on June 30, 2019):
- It is possible to pay part or all of the monetary surcharge with points, not including port taxes
- The point-money exchange rate may vary according to destination, flight date, supply and demand and other economic and commercial considerations as determined by the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club
- In any event, the point-money exchange rate will not exceed 5 points in exchange for one dollar
Option to Purchase Reduced Price Classic Award Tickets. postponed to July 9, 2019 (Updated on June 30, 2019))
As of April 1, 2019, the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club will enable club members to purchase reduced price classic Awardtickets.
Super-Saver tickets are Award tickets that will be offered to Matmid members with a discounted number of points required for purchasing bonus tickets.
- Reduced price classic Award ticket for Economy Class – discount of 25% on the number of points specified in the bonus ticket price list for Matmid Club members.
- Reduced price classic Award ticket for Premium Class and Business Class – discount of 20% on the number of points specified in the Award ticket price list for Matmid Club members.
- The discount will be given only on the price of the Award ticket for points and will not be given on the cash surcharge, tax payments and other extras.
- This is to clarify that when purchasing a reduced price class classic Award ticket, no additional discount will be given to FLY CARD and FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders.
- Availability of reduced price classic Award tickets will be according to supply and demand considerations and to the availability of seats on the flight. Likewise, availability of reduced price classic Award tickets can vary according to flight destination and flight date as well as additional business and commercial considerations that will be determined by the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club. In other words, there may be months and destinations for which reduced price classic bonus tickets will have low or no availability.
- In any event, availability of reduced price classic Award tickets during a calendar year will not be less than 10% of the entire number of Award tickets offered during the year by the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club.
- Except for the aforesaid, all other conditions that apply to Award tickets will also apply to reduced price classic tickets.
