+ Point Accrual
How does the accrual method work?
With the new accrual method, point accrual will be calculated based on the price of the flight ticket.
The ticket fare that earns points does not include:
- Taxes, security surcharges and handling fees
- Commissions of travel agents and other distribution channels
- Auxiliary flight products

If I purchased a flight ticket before April 1, 2019 and the flight departs after April 1, 2019, which accrual method will be used to calculate points?
Point accrual will be determined only according to the date of the flight’s departure, regardless of the date the flight ticket was purchased. This means that point accrual from a flight departing after April 1 will be calculated according to the new method.

I purchased an EL AL flight ticket as part of a package. Will I earn points based on the price of the flight ticket?
No. Point accrual for flight tickets that include continuation flights, flight tickets sold at wholesale prices or as part of packages and flight tickets for Sun d'Or flights will not be based on the price of the ticket, but rather on the basis of the flight destination and the registration class linked to the ticket.

I want to reserve an EL AL flight ticket through an internet agent (website not belonging to EL AL). Can I know in advance how many points I will earn?
In this case, it is not possible to know in advance the number of points that will be earned. Point accrual for flight tickets that are not purchased on EL AL’s direct sales channels will be calculated according to the ticket price that EL AL receives from travel agents or other distribution channels. As the price of the flight ticket displayed by the agent is likely to include a handling fee, commissions or other extras, it is not possible to know in advance the price that will be paid to EL AL and therefore it is not possible to know in advance how many points will be earned.

+ Bonus Tickets
I would like to purchase an EL AL bonus ticket. How can I find out the conditions for changing and canceling the ticket?
As of April 1, 2019, the terms for changing and canceling a bonus ticket will be displayed at the time the reservation is made (postponed to July 1, 2019). Until March 31, 2019, the conditions for canceling and changing a bonus ticket will be as published on the EL AL website.

I purchased a bonus ticket and now would like to change the date of the flight. How can I do this?
To change or cancel a bonus ticket, please call EL AL Customer Service.

I would like to order a bonus ticket, how can I know the exact cash Surcharge I will have to pay?
On the new price list for bonus tickets, the monetary surcharge is published as a price range. As of April 1, 2019, it will be possible to know the exact amount of the monetary surcharge when making the reservation on the reservations engine on the EL AL website.​

I want to purchase a bonus ticket but do not have enough points. Is it possible to purchase missing points with money?
As of April 1, 2019 it will be possible to purchase missing points in lots of 10 points for $10. 

+ Flight Ticket for Combined Money and Points
I would like to purchase a flight ticket for combined money and points (Cash & Points). I have 200 points; what is the value of these points in money?
The conversion rate of points to money varies according to the destination and the date of the flight, supply and demand conditions and other economic, commercial and business considerations that are determined by the Matmid Club. In any case, the conversion rate of points to money will not be higher than 5 points per dollar.

Can I take advantage of the Cash & Points benefit and combine points and money when my ticket purchase is through my travel agent?
Yes. Using the Cash & Points benefit is possible through the EL AL website or through travel agents in Israel. Please note that it is not possible to take advantage of the benefit when the ticket is purchased through internet travel agents or through overseas travel agents.
