Baggage benefit

  1. The benefit is for one suitcase weighing up to 23 kilos for passengers flying in Economy Class or Economy Class Plus, subject to the table

  2. The benefit  will be given only up to 6 hours before the flight.

  3. 50% discount on additional suitcase for FLY CARD and FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders
    subject to the table:
    The discount is only on one additional suitcase above the baggage allowance.
    For customers with an Israeli bank account, subject to Matmid Club regulations and rules

  4. The discount will be given only FLY CARD or FLY CARD PREMIUM credit cards holders reserving up to 6 hours before the flight.

  5. The discount in money (not including accompanying passengers): through the Telephone Service Center at Tel 03-9771111. The discount in points through the EL AL website

    Changes and updates regarding flights departing as of October 15, 2018, for sale as of April 30, 2018:
    For the Lite ticket: the 50% discount baggage benefit for FLY CARD holders will not apply to the first suitcase; it will apply to the second suitcase (first suitcase for full payment with money​​​).​

    ​Excess baggage benefit in Matmid points to EL AL destinations in Europe: 250 points per direction.
    For flights departing as of October 15, 2018, for sale as of April 30, 2018, the price of excess baggage to Europe: 120 points per direction.
  6. Payment in money or points at the 50% discount given to FLY CARD or FLY CARD PREMIUM credit card holders will be rounded up if the sum has a decimal point

  7. Utilizing the baggage award for points must be completed in advance, through the Matmid website (after identification, enter “My Account” on the menu, “Utilizing Points” and then “Baggage Awards” and follow instructions on the website)

  8. Top Platinum members have the option of issuing baggage award vouchers from their accounts for a family member or acquaintance flying in Economy Class or Economy Class Plus without accompanying them on the flight, for the full price in points

    The baggage benefit is for a second suitcase weighing up to 23 kilos to any of EL AL's destinations, when flying in Economy Class. (Every passenger is entitled to use one baggage award voucher per flight segment)

  9. No double benefits

  10. Missing points cannot be supplemented with money

  11. Until December 9, 2014, the baggage award voucher should be printed and presented at check-in at the EL AL counters. Starting at December 10, 2014 benefit details will be automatically updated in your flight reservation

  12. The baggage award voucher cannot be converted to money

  13. The benefit is for utilization to any EL AL destination on EL AL aircraft. This voucher is not valid for code share flights and/or for UP flights and/or for continuation flights with other airlines, for which the baggage policy is based on the route

  14. Without detracting from the Consumer Protection regulations (cancelation of transaction), 5771 - 2010, the baggage award voucher can be canceled as follows:
    • Until one day before the flight, points for non-utilization of the baggage award will be returned to the member’s account with their original validity date
    • After the flight, if the baggage benefit was not utilized, the voucher cannot be canceled and the points will not be returned to the account
    • If a request to cancel the flight is submitted in advance, up to 6 hours before flight time, it will be possible to cancel the baggage award
    • Cancelation of the baggage award will be handled by the EL AL Telephone Service Center at Tel. 03-9771111

  15. EL AL may cancel the benefit or change its conditions at any time and with no prior notification

  16. Subject to the benefit conditions and to Matmid regulations and rules as published on the EL AL website

  17. Regarding EL AL flights, EL AL's general transportation conditions as specified on the EL AL website will apply

  18. Errors and omissions excepted
