  • Cancellation fees on award tickets:
    The terms of award tickets cancellation fees will be specified during the award ticket booking process and prior to its purchase. Cancellation fees will be waived from Top Platinum and Platinum members until December 31, 2022.
  • Please note: Cancellation fees for Award tickets purchased from April 6th, 2021 to December 31, 2021, will be $20 for Frequent Flyer, silver tier and gold tier members.
  • An award ticket can be booked and ticketed up to 6 hours before departure
  • An award ticket is valid for one year from the date it is issued, for departures and arrivals
  • The method of payment for an award ticket is: points + taxes and cash additions, depending on the number of points purchased
  • Booking and ticketing through the EL AL call center incurs handling fees​
  • ​If you don't have enough points for award ticket, ​just buy the points you need>​​
  • The additional cash payment is shown when a ticket is booked, and may vary depending on the flight destination, flight date, and other considerations. In any event, the cash addition will be within the range published in the price lists​
  • The rate of conversion of points to money may vary according to the flight destination, flight date, supply and demand conditions, as well as other commercial, business and economic considerations as determined by the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club. In any case, the point-to-money rate will not exceed 5 points per dollar
  • As of 1 July 2019, part or all of the cash additions may be paid using points, excluding port taxes
  • Matmid Frequent Flyer members who order an award ticket through travel agents or through a representative at the EL AL call center are asked to indicate, when booking, if they wish to redeem points for the bonus ticket from one or more accounts - and not to wait for the ticketing stage as is currently the case. Otherwise, two airline tickets will be issued from two different accounts.
  • An award ticket is valid for EL AL flights only and cannot be transferred to other airlines 
  • An award ticket does not enable connection to flights of other airlines (except for special agreements)
  • An award ticket cannot be upgraded (no upgrade in advance and no upgrade at the last minute)
  • An award ticket allows one stop (outbound or inbound) on a round trip ticket
  • With an award ticket issued for EL AL flights, you can fly to one de​stination and return from another destination. The price of the ticket will be determined by the price in one direction of each destination according to the price table
  • You cannot accrue points for an award ticket, even if some of the points were purchased with money​
  • The terms of cancellation of an award ticket purchased during a promotional offer will be in accordance with the relevant program regulations
  • The passenger's name on the award ticket cannot be changed 
  • There are no discounts on award tickets (children / students / retirees) 
  • Award ticket prices are based on prices in dollars, and therefore the conversion rate to points may vary based on the local currency conversion rate. If the displayed price is higher than the price of the award ticket listed in the price list, and your account is charged more points than the advertised bonus price listed in the price-list, we will check the price and credit your account accordingly once a quarter

As of July 9, 2019:

  • Ticketing must be performed immediately when booking the award ticket through the website, the service center or through travel agents
  • The terms of the award tickets, including terms of change, cancellation or no show for the flight,  are specified during the award ticket booking process and prior to its purchase.
  • Registering for the waiting list for purchasing award tickets is available only to Platinum and Top Platinum members. For these members, registering for the waiting list will also be possible for passengers accompanying them in the same order, as well as Platinum and Top Platinum members who have redeemed or will redeem points from the account of another person. Registering for the waiting list is only via the EL AL call center 
  • Offers to book award ticke​ts is not shown to club members who do not have the required points, as appears in the new award ​ticket price lists​. If you don't have enough points for award ticket, ​just buy the points you need>​​​​

Terms for award tickets booked and ticketed until 14.10.18 to destinations Berlin, Prague, Kiev, Budapest and Larnaca: 
  1. The flights do not include seating and baggage.
  2. The passenger name or destination cannot be changed.
  3. Date change is subject to payment of a handling fee of $ 60. Top Platinum and Platinum customers will be charged $ 10 for changes made up to 24 hours prior to departure, and $ 60 between 24 hours and 6 hours prior to departure
  4. Cancellation of an award ticket entails a payment of $ 60. Top Platinum and Platinum customers will be charged $ 10
  5. The fee for a No show is $ 100​​

  • The current price list for the booking cancellation and change terms is canceled
  • Registering for the waiting list for purchasing award tickets will be made available only to Platinum and Top Platinum members. For these members, registering for the waiting list will also be possible for passengers accompanying them in the same order, as well as Platinum and Top Platinum members who have redeemed or will redeem points from the account of another person. Registering for the waiting list will only be via the EL AL center
