On January 15th , 2008 the method of computing the security surcharge was updated so that it is calculated by weight rather than by volume. This is intended to reduce security costs for you.

The Security Surcharge is now based on actual weight from TLV, from Europe and from Transatlantic origins.
Only the Security Surcharge from the Far East remains to be calculated on chargeable weight.
