NEW YORK, NY – May 20, 2008 – EL AL, Israel’s national airline, is proud to have recently carried 24 teenagers from Sderot, Israel to Poland, enabling them to accompany a Ministry of Education delegation on a 7-day educational tour.
EL AL President Haim Romano offered to provide the students with an all-expense paid trip to Poland, including roundtrip airfare. This latest effort is part of the airline’s close relationship with the citizens of Sderot, a town which is located in southern Israel.
Last year EL AL adopted the town, naming one of two newly purchased Boeing 777 aircraft Sderot. Ten teens from Sderot also traveled on the aircraft’s inaugural flight and were hosted by EL AL on their first ever visit to New York City.
