Due to the sharp rise in fuel prices, EL AL has had to take the action of increasing the fuel surcharge to its tickets.
The new surcharge will comes into immediate effect on 14 July 2008, for tickets issued on/after 14 July 2008 for journeys starting on/after 14 July 2008.
The surcharge must be reflected in the fare calculation as an additional collection & not as a Government airport tax. This thus makes the Fuel Surcharge commissionable, as it is part of the airfare.
The below surcharge applies to all journeys originating from South Africa:
- New surcharges will now differ for Business Class and Economy Class fares as follows:
Business Class: ZAR 2150 per leg
Economy Class: ZAR 1950 per leg
- There is a Fuel Surcharge applicable for other routings. Please refer to your CRS for these amounts.
Pax who are connecting with another EL AL flight within 24hrs are exempt from the Fuel Surcharge for that leg.
Children - full imposition of the surcharge.
Exemptions: Infants ONLY. No other exemptions apply. Our domestic add-ons with BA/Comair & SAA also have a Fuel Surcharge. Please contact them in this regard.
