This only applies to flights JNB/TLV.

We would like to outline the free baggage allowances for our Passengers and Matmid Club Members

1. CARRY-ON LUGGAGE:
   Maximum size in centimetres - 25 X 45 X 56Maximum weight allowance
   • ECONOMY CLASS - 8 kilograms Maximum
   • PL/GL FQTVS BOOKED IN ECONOMY - 12 Kilograms Maximum incl.: 1 Handbag of maximum 08Kgs 1 Laptop or briefcase of maximum 4Kgs
   • BUSINESS/PLATINUM CLASS - 20 Kilograms Maximum 1 Handbag of maximum 16Kgs 1 Laptop or briefcase of maximum 4Kgs
     
     
2. WEIGHT CONCEPT (LY FLIGHTS ONLY)
   The weight concept is applies for pax flying to all destinations worldwide except to/from USA/Canada30 KG - FOR BUSINESS CLASS FARE20 KG - FOR ECONOMY CLASS FARE10 KG - FOR INFANTS for whom 10% of the adult fare has been paid
   
   
3. EXTRA BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE FOR FREQUENT FLYERS
   As of January 1 2005 - members of El Al's Frequent Flyer Club will enjoy special benefits regarding extra baggage allowance free of charge. The benefits are valid for El Al's following destinations: - The Mediterranean Basin; - Europe; - South Africa; - The Far EastNote - Not applied to destinations not listed above. The following table indicates the updated total baggage allowance for Matmid members:

4. PIECE CONCEPT (LY FLIGHTS ONLY)
   The Piece Concept is applied for pax to/rom the USA/Canada issued as 1 ticket.
   1. The Piece Concept applies to all pax whose origin or final destination is a point in the USA or Canada. This includes any travel beyond the USA or foreign gateway legs of their journey.
   2. The baggage allowance concept can vary between different portions of the trip.
   I.E. Canada: Weight concept applies to JNBTLVJNB if stopover in TLV and Piece concept applies to TLVYYZTLV.
   ALLOCATION - PIECE CONCEPT (LY FLIGHTS ONLY)
   The following free baggage allowance is applicable to pax on *LY* flights:
   First Class - 4 Pieces; Business Class - 3 Pieces; Economy Class - 2 Pieces
   
   
5. PIECE/BAG WEIGHT AND SIZE
   1. SIZE of PIECE - Sum of length/height/width -158cm each;
      The total dimensions of the two pieces must not exceed 273cm
   2. EIGHT OF PIECE -
      First/Business Class pax and PL/GL booked in any class maximum weight of any bag -30kg
      Economy pax: Valid from 01Jan'06 Maximum weight of any bag -23kg
      Infant pax are allowed one piece of checked baggage - Maximum 115cm plus 1 checked or carry on stroller 1 infants car seat
   3. SPECIAL BAGGAGE ITEMS
      The following items may be considered as one piece of baggage equal to 135cm irrespective of their actual dimensions.
      *IMPORTANT* - All of the below items are subject to excess baggage charges if total amount of items per passenger exceed the free baggage allowance.1 sleeping bag or bedroll; 1 backpack; 1 pair of snow skies & 1 pair of ski poles & 1 pair of ski boots; 1 Golf bag containing golf clubs & 1 pair of golf shoes; 1 duffel type bag; 1 suitable packed bicycle-single seat touring or racing bicycle non-motorized - provided that handle bars are fixed sideways and pedals are removed.Any portable musical instrument not exceeding 100cm in length.
