13 February 2006 – As part of the strategic plan to focus on improving the in-flight experience and service offered to EL AL passengers, EL AL is pleased to announce the completion of the total revamping of the business class cabin on the 767 fleet. The Tel Aviv-Toronto-Los Angeles route is currently serviced by the 767 aircraft and now offers the “5-Star” business class cabin.

“$3.8 million dollars (USD) were invested in replacing the Business Class seats on the 767 fleet,” points out Stanley Morais, General Manager for Canada. The new seats now offer 60 inch pitch, 165 degree recline and 110V power connection. The interior of the cabin was also upgraded to create a new, spacious and pleasing ambiance. “Improving the in-flight experience and offering innovative in-flight services is a focus for us at EL AL,” added Morais. “We continue to give our passengers more like the newly installed Iridium satellite telephone system, soon to be available in-flight personal portable entertainment systems as well as being the first airline to install 32-inch LCD screens for a better viewing experience throughout the flight,” points out Mr. Morais.

EL AL’s new King David Lounge for the business traveller at the new Ben Gurion Tel Aviv airport offers an array of improvements including WAP and individual internet stations, plasma screens displaying continuous flight information and for television viewing, a gallery level offering new services, such as showers and massage seats. “It has become very clear that as a result of our improvements we have very quickly seen greater demand for this product and increased market-share in our premium cabin,” mentions Joel Solish, Sales and Marketing Manager for Canada.
