Points are accumulated within a 3-year period for a bonus ticket or upgrade and need to be claimed within this 3-year period. Points expire after 3 years. Once the points are redeemed with a bonus voucher, the voucher is good for an additional year to use for the ticket or upgrade (see number 7).

8. HOW DO I RECEIVE A BONUS TICKET OR UPGRADE?  
After making your reservation you will need to have a bonus voucher issued from your account, this can be done by logging into E-clubs on this website. To log into the E-Clubs go back to the home page, type in your 7-digit Matmid number and internet password in the Matmid Club log-in box on the left hand side of your screen. And click on the word Enter. When the next screen appears click on My Account on the bottom right of the box. Once you are in your account click on issue voucher on the left hand side of your screen and follow the instructions. If the voucher is for an upgrade you will need to call our reservations department at: 800 223 6700 and advise them your voucher number after you issue it so it may be used to upgrade the ticket that you have already purchased.

9. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A VOUCHER?
ONE BUSINESS DAY. However, Bonus ticket vouchers require an advance ticket issuance of 4 business days. Therefore, bonus ticket vouchers requiring ticketing 3-1 business days before departure will incur a $50 Rush Fee. (Upgrade vouchers can be used up to 6 hours prior to departure without a fee).

10. CAN I GIVE A BONUS VOUCHER TO WHOMEVER I WANT?
YES, just notate their name when you fill out your voucher request form. There is a $30 fee to change a name on a voucher once it has been issued.

11. CAN I COMBINE MY POINTS WITH ANOTHER MEMBER’S ACCOUNT TO OBTAIN A FREE TICKET OR UPGRADE?
NO.

12. HOW CAN I FIND OUT MY ACCOUNT BALANCE?
Go to the EL AL website and click on the picture of the Matmid card on the right side of your screen. You must have your seven-digit Matmid number and pin code to access your account.

13. IF I FLY EL AL MORE THAN THE AVERAGE MEMBER WILL I RECEIVE EXTRA PRIVILEGES?
YES. EL AL has 4 tiers within the Matmid Club. Matmid (TL), Matmid Silver (SL), Matmid Gold (GL) and Matmid Platinum (PL). Silver, Gold and Platinum Members receive extra privileges such as:

• Additional point accrual
• Priority on wait lists for EL AL flights
• Guaranteed seating in Y Economy Class fares 72 hours before your flight.

14. I AM A SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM CLUB MEMBER, WHAT FARES MUST I PURCHASE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A “LAST MINUTE” UPGRADE?
For a ”Last Minute” upgrade to Platinum Class you must buy an M or Y Class fare & for First Class you must buy an I or C Class fare.
Please note: Only Silver, Gold and Platinum members are eligible for a “Last Minute” upgrade 72 hours before a flight and only Gold & Platinum members are eligible for a ”Last Minute” upgrade at the airport. Children (no matter what level of membership) are NOT eligible for a “Last Minute” upgrade.
